The treatment progress of the infantile nystagmus syndrome

Abstract:

Infantile nystagmus syndrome (INS) is pathologic nystagmus that presents at birth or early infancy. It is clinically characterized by involuntary and conjugated oscillation of the eye.This disease cannot be cured completely. However, the method of treatment has got progress, such as the optometry treatments of optical glasses, contact lenses, prisms, eyesight\|aiding devices and laser therapy, drug treatments of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, botulinum toxin extraocular muscle injection, and biofeedback therapy of auditory feedback, as well as new surgical methods.(Int Rev Ophthalmol, 2016, 40: 414-419)
